Anambra guber: Why Obiano won’t be re-elected – Ex-health minister, Nwosu

A former minister of Health, Professor Alphonsus B.C. Nwosu, on Tuesday stated that Governor Willie Obiano of the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), will not be re-elected.
He said Obiano should forget a second term in office because Anambra State, according to him, could not afford to continue “on its costly path of self-inflicted isolation from the national grid by belonging to an enclave political party.”

Nwosu spoke in Nnewi while addressing newsmen after a meeting of Anambra Union, group comprising of professionals, retired civil servants, ambassadors and academics.
In attendance were six aspirants from the APC and PDP.
He said that the next governor of the state must be produced by either of the two opposition parties in the state due of their “national outlook”.
“Whoever aspires to govern Anambra State that produced the great Zik of Africa, Dim Odumegwu Ojukwu and Chinua Achebe among other giants must be accomplished in learning and human management,” he said.
Meanwhile, Osita Chidoka, former FRSC corps marshal has formally joined the race for governorship of Anambra.
The former aviation minister and his supporters stormed the secretariat of the United Progressive Party (UPP) in Abuja to pick up an expression of interest and nomination forms.
Speaking afterwards, Chidoka said he would modernize governance in Anambra.
