Buhari: President leaves Nigeria again on Sunday

To attend the 72nd Session of the United Nations General Assembly, UNGA 72. 

Buhari is required to participate in the General Debate amid which he will convey the country's National Statement. 

The theme for the current year's Debate is: "Focusing on People: Striving for Peace and a Decent Life for All on a Sustainable Planet." 

A statement marked by the President's Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina and sent to GIFTEDBLOG, says the President will join other world leaders at the, "inviting reception to be facilitated by the UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, and also hold a bilateral meeting with the UN copyist." 

Buhari is also anticipated that would hold a lunch meeting with his counterpart from the United States, President Donald Trump along with other world leaders. 

The statement said amid the General Assembly, Nigeria will participate in abnormal state meetings on "Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse: Building Momentum for Change," the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting, a High Level Event organized by the African Union under its Theme of the Year: 'Roadmap on the Demographic Dividend: from Commitment to Action,' among others. 

At the occasions, Buhari and individuals from his delegation will endeavor to extend Nigeria as a strong moral force and responsible individual from the international group. 

The statement added, "Nigeria's sense of duty regarding global peace, security and improvement will also be reaffirmed and where necessary, the requirement for increased international cooperation in the battle against corruption. 

"Different needs for the Nigerian delegation at UNGA 72 incorporate reinforcing human rights institutions; the control of law; bolster for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) because of psychological militant acts and late flooding, and mitigating the impacts of Climate Change. 

"The Nigerian delegation will also canvass the help of UN part states for the Buhari Administration's efforts towards combatting unlawful financial streams with a specific end goal to encourage sustainable improvement." 

In the entourage of the President is the Governors of Zamfara, Ebonyi and Ondo States, and key cabinet ministers, the statement uncovered. 

"President Buhari will transit through London on his way back to the country," Adesina said.
