"It is a complicated, treacherous disease that exists much more than we enable ourselves to know" - Nicole Kidman on Domestic Violence

Nicole Kidman won the award 'Remarkable Lead Actress in a Limited Series or a Movie' at the 2017 Emmys for her role as a residential manhandle casualty in the HBO dramatization Big Little Lies 


In the series, Nicole played a lady called Celeste who, all things considered, seems to have an adoring association with her husband however endured abusive behavior at home and verbal manhandle in secret. 

In her acknowledgment discourse, Nicole tended to abusive behavior at home, saying;

"Sometimes when you’re acting, you get a chance to bring a bigger message. We shone a light on domestic abuse. It is a complicated, insidious disease that exists far more than we allow ourselves to know. It is filled with shame, secrecy and, by you acknowledging me with this award, it shines a light on it even more."
